Art Week 2023

Artsweek 2023 explored stories from different parts of the world. Students made drawings, paintings and sculptures of different parts of the stories that they had heard.

Stories such as Anansi the spiderman from North Africa or the story book: Hamza's Surprise allowed children to consider animals and peoples lives in other countries.

In the end all the students work was put up in the school woodlands where pupils would see it as they walked the pathways in the woods.

Several artists also visited to do workshops with some students, One class made wooden sculptures, others made clay wings after the Greek Myth of Icarus and another told us the story of Sam King who came to England on the Empire Windrush and became mayor of Southwark and initiated the Notting Hill Carnival.
